Am I fit to Participate?

As with any physical activity, you should check with your physician if there is any question in your mind. However, if you are able to walk 5-7 miles in a given day, then you are fit and ready to get to the starting line.

What it is

  • A race of 200 4-person teams comprised of men and women (at least 18 years of age), who will follow a 5K route to get from one destination to the next.
  • Run, walk or crawl to 10 different sites where your team will solve a clue and complete a mental or physical challenge.
  • Testing each team's grit and wit, the twist is not every team member will need to participate in every challenge, so you can draw from the expertise of your team...so lace up your shoes and come prepared for anything!
  • This is a unique competition for the adventurous at heart, as your team will encounter activities that you may have never experienced before.
  • Points and penalties will be awarded for your team's efforts, and overall time is merely a factor in the winning team's formula.
  • Special Olympics Michigan is the benefactor, so be the athlete for a FUN day of friendly competition and adventure to support Michigan's special needs athletes.
  • As an all-day event, an award celebration with prizes, food and entertainment will commence to recognize those who excel, place and just show-up.

What it is NOT

  • It is not a scavenger hunt or road rally.
  • It is not a quiz bowl or spelling bee.
  • It is not another walk or 5K run.
  • It is not a marathon, triathlon or "Iron Man" competition.
